Draped bust of Ardashir to right, wearing diadem and Parthian-style tiara decorated with stars; to left and right, an abbreviated form of ‘mzdysn bgy ʾrthštr MRKAn MRKA ʾyrʾn’, i.e. ‘mazdēsn bay Ardaxšēr šāhān šāh Ērān’ (‘The Mazda-worshipping Lord Ardashir, King of Kings of the Iranians’ in Pahlavi). Rev. Fire altar; to left and right, ‘NWRA ZY ˗ ʾrthštr’, i.e. ‘ādur ī Ardaxšēr’ (‘Fire of Ardashir’ in Pahlavi). Göbl type II/5/2. SNS I, type IIh/3a. Green deposits, otherwise, good very fine.
